Must Have:

  • Basic set-up supplies (paper towels, palette, baby wipes, apron, etc.)
  • Art Journal and/or mixed media spiral notebook
  • 6+ Full sheets of hot press watercolor paper or Stonehenge printmakers paper. (If coming by plane carry in tube if you want to work big or cut in half for easy travel)
  • Collage papers with bold graphic designs, origami papers work great
  • Several canvases, canvas boards, or wood panels 12x12, 11x14
  • 4+ small 5x5 gallery wrapped canvases
  • Golden Fluid Acrylic Paints - Primary Cyan or Cobalt Blue, Primary Yellow or Hansa Yellow Medium, Primary Magenta or Quinacridone Magenta, 4oz or larger Golden Heavy Body paint, titanium white, 5oz tube
  • A variety of brushes in a range of sizes, including your rough used brushes. Flat size 6, 10 and 12 are especially recommended. (Princeton Catalyst is the teacher’s favorite)
  • Professional grade Gesso, like Liquitex
  • Gel/Matte Medium
  • Spray bottle
  • Brayer
  • Palette knives
  • Pencils, graphite, charcoal, etc.

Nice to Have, but optional:

  • Golden Fluid Paints, other recommended colors: Indian Yellow, Pyrrole or Cadmium Red, Turquoise, Teal, Payne’s Grey, Prussian Blue, Green-Gold, Phthalo Green, Quinacridone Magenta, Permanent Violet Hue, Van Dyke Brown plus any of your other favorite colors.
  • Golden Heavy Body paints, favorite colors.
  • Molding Paste, other texture mediums
  • Oil pastels, soft pastels, pigment sticks, water soluble crayons, etc.
  • Favorite stencils or mark making tools (many will be available in the class to share)

Your instructor will have a wide variety of mediums, tools, collage papers and supplies to test and try during this workshop so that you do not have to bring your whole studio with you!

**Please note: For best results student grade paints are not recommended. Other brand professional level acrylic paints are acceptable, but Golden is prefered.
