Basic Sewing Supplies:
-Sewing machine needles
-Walking foot and zipper foot (if you have them)
-Rotary cutter and blades
-Acrylic Rulers in a variety of sizes
Class Specific Supplies:
-Roll of Freezer Paper
- Small notebook/sketchpad or sheets of plain paper to make notes, tape color samples to or sketch out ideas. You may want colored pencils if you would like to work out design options with color before you begin to sew the quilt
-Several large sheets of both black and white craft paper
-Mechanical pencil and eraser
-Fabric marking pencils for light and dark fabrics
-Portable design wall (I use an old piece of batting or flannel for this
-OPTIONAL but highly recommended: Mini iron and mini ironing board
The more colors you bring the more you will get out of the class. Be sure
to include neutrals and a few colors you don’t care for.
FOR COLOR EXERCISES:
-Large variety of small scraps of solids and/or a complete Kona charm
pack, or other solid charm pack.
FOR QUILT MAKING: Variety of fabrics. Bring enough color choices to suit your creative style. Pick fabrics you love with a variety of light, medium and dark options. Include neutrals. The more you bring the better.
- Several yards of both black and white fabrics. Bring solids or prints that
read as solid.
