For most photographers, taking a trip presents an incredible opportunity to capture the unique sights and allure of a new place. But are there any guidelines on how to best approach photographing a new destination? Learn what to consider when planning your itinerary and your photographs when visiting a new destination.
Seasoned travel photographer Pei Ketron will lead the class to different visually-rich locations around Madeline Island, including the Big Bay Lagoon and downtown La Pointe, where she will provide instruction on how best to capture the scenes you encounter, whether you're shooting with a DSLR, film camera, or smartphone. This workshop also includes a private boat tour of the Devils Island sea caves, on the northern-most Apostle Island.
Practice a number of photography styles, ranging from landscape work on the coast and documentary in town, to portraiture of locals and even food photography. At the end of the week, you'll leave with a set of images that paint a full picture of Madeline Island and will be armed with the knowledge of how to do the same no matter where in the world you travel to next.
