In this workshop you will work with Herman to develop your own artistic vision, and develop approaches to solve compositional challenges.
The intention of this class is to meet you exactly where you are and to support the production of work that expands your practice in a personal way. There will be plenty of individual instruction throughout the week, and Herman will include lecture, discussion and demonstrations of particular techniques.
He will show you a step by step process beginning with a fast foundation painting and concluding with final approach options that are easy to learn and thought provoking.
You will learn about colour mixing, glazes, composition, drying time, thickness and edges to create an impressionist painting you never thought possible with watercolour. You will be exploring landscapes, waterscapes and streetscapes, focusing on various techniques.
Expect to be challenged, to be brave, and to have fun! Students are encouraged to bring their own images (no other artists) to work from and previous work for Herman’s appraisal.
