Madeline Island School of the Arts (MISA) is the country's newest art and craft school located on a uniquely restored Wisconsin dairy farm in the middle of an Island surrounded by Lake Superior. Accessible only by ferry, boat or plane, the Island has an art and craft tradition that dates back more than three hundred years during which time three different flags have flown her shores.

During 2009 we continued our expansion program, adding new classroom space and  much needed on-campus  lodging. These new additions were designed to maintain the integrity of the old farmstead.

Our workshops couple the finest instruction in a variety of disciplines with a pastoral farm setting. Teachers and students will enjoy an unforgettable Island experience at the historic Sandstrom Farm. Explore our website and learn more about our Superior location.
