About This Workshop

MISA and Quiltworx are bringing Quiltworx University to the never before host City of Santa Fe, NM, Land of Enchantment, at the Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza.

Quiltworx University is an event like no other in the quilting industry!  This workshop is offered twice a year in different locations around the United States. You will spend five, full days with Judy and Judel Niemeyer along with a team of Quiltworx Certified Instructors to make an exclusive mixer project using Quiltworx designed mixer blocks. At the end of this class, you will have in-depth knowledge of how to plan your Quiltworx
projects using Judy’s favorite planning tool, Quiltster (6 month membership comes with event sign-up), you will learn how to read Judy’s instructions, cut and organize your quilt projects for foundation paper piecing, and how to foundation paper piece a quilt using Judy’s tips, tricks, and latest techniques.

Attend trunk shows every night to see, in person, quilts made by Judy, her instructors, and other students in the class!  Prepare to have fun shopping in the on-site Quiltworx Certified Shop (available all week) which will be stocked with workshop supplies and fabrics to satisfy all your quilting needs.  There, you will also find Judel, with Quiltster, who will custom design quilt projects using the on-site shop fabric so you can take home the project of your dreams!

When you’re not quilting your heart out, enjoy all Santa Fe has to offer including the best Southwest cuisine, fabulous galleries, shopping, and world-class museums like the Santa Fe Folk Art Museum and the nearby Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.

Don’t miss this opportunity to fully immerse yourself in this one-of-a-kind Quiltworx experience in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

*Please understand that students will only be allowed to work on a project that is offered for this event.  It is not an open class where you can bring anything you want.  Options will be provided to you 4 to 6 month in advance of the workshop to include:  1) a Project that is available to purchase by pattern only, where you can provide your own fabrics and prepare you own kit,  2) a number of Projects that have been pre designed by Quiltworx using the mixer elements Judy selects for this event and fabrics from the sponsoring Certified Shop, all of which will be delivered to you at the event and prepared by the shop so you are ready for class, or 3) A custom designed project, created by you, using Quitlster and your favorite combination of mixer elements from the event, along with fabrics from the Certified Shop.  Again, this option will be prepared for you by the shop and delivered to you at the event.  You also will have an option of paying a design fee and working directly with Judel.  She can design your custom project for you and it will be prepared by the shop for delivery to your table at the event!

The project will be announced sometime in October 2024, opened for coloring in Quiltster, in December of 2024, and Orders should be completed by January 15th, 2025.  You will need to make the project that we are preparing for the event, so please stay tuned and watch your email or the following link (which will be updated with project details in October) on the Quiltworx website for more information:
