Getting here is easy

 

La Pointe, Madeline Island, WI is the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands on Lake Superior’s south shore
and for 150 years it was an outpost for French, British and American fur traders.
Now, it is known for its picturesque beauty, expansive sandy beaches, and serene atmosphere.
MISA is located 1.5 miles from the La Pointe town ferry dock.

Ferry to La Pointe, Madeline Island: 

The ferry from Bayfield, Wisconsin to the Island runs on a set schedule every half hour during the summer, taking about 20 minutes to cross.

Reservations aren’t accepted; it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Flying – Duluth International Airport (DLH)

 

DLH is the closest regional airport, about 90 miles from the port town of Bayfield, WI.

The airport is served by Delta and United Airlines, with three daily flights from Minneapolis (Delta)
and three daily flights from Chicago (United). Major car rental agencies are available.

MISA/Duluth Airport Shuttle

 

We offer a round-trip shuttle from Duluth International Airport to the campus for $450, which includes your ferry ticket.
