Heather was starved for a creative outlet when her friend suggested she make quilts. She began seriously quilting in the summer of 2011 and finished her first quilt in November 2011 and loved it instantly.

She chose the name quiltachusetts because that’s what her late husband, Stephen, called her sewing room. He’d casually say, “are you going to quilt-achusetts?” and it stuck. 

About her designs, Heather is not a traditional quilter. She is a modern to contemporary quilter and designer with a love for bold geometric designs and finds inspiration in unique places especially from subjects.
